Project Description

Interim: after the end and before the beginningwas an inquiry into now a moment in time might appear if captured and subsequently stretched. By default, the division of time into a singular moment is an impossibility, to contemplate the present, it is already past, therefore this work became an infinite, eternal fiction.

This moment was defined by a basic human increment, a single blink of an eye, which occurred over forty minutes. A sequence of percussion, movement, light, reflection and visual occurrences obliquely illuminate this moment which cannot be held, retained but only imagined.

Elements

Forty minute single eye blink spanning 55 feet (1676 cm)
Breathing horizontal figure with latex shadow which stretches
Circular pool
White powder mound cratered with stones
Trembling mirrors
Rotating squares
Copper reflecting pool
Ascending Spiral

Materials:
Mixed
